If you’re like me, you’re thinking about birding pretty much all the time. And I hope you’re NOT like me in the tendency to get lost if you don’t have the directions to your birding destination spelled out for you step by step. But I’m sure we can agree that when you’re on a business or family trip and have a short block of time to sneak away and hit the trails, you DON’T want to get bogged down in details like
- Is it worth going to this spot at this time of year?
- Is the eBird hotspot pin logically placed so I’ll be able to get there without the runaround?
- Where else can I go that’s nearby, to maximize efficiency and find the most birds in a short amount of time?
- Where can I go to grab a bite to eat or hit the restroom? (and yes, my gluten-free, vegetarian/vegan, orthorexic friends, I see you too).
That’s what FFBT is all about: seeing birds and saving time. Your business associates or family members will hardly notice you were gone 😉
